From The Motherfuckers mouth:
"This crazy journey began for the band and me back in 2003, or it might even have been 2002, but who cares really. Back then alcohol had a great influence on my life so everything is a bit of a blur, but let me tell you how I think this all started.
I have been involved with bands in one way or another for about 20 years but at this time, 2003 that is, I wasn’t involved in any band, and hey it actually felt great for that short period of time. I was just trying to be an everyday bloke, a nobody really, just go to gigs, enjoy life, drink too much, cause a bit of trouble and that kind of stuff. I was successfully doing this (but did pick up a broken nose in the process) but there was still one thing I couldn’t escape from. Everywhere I went I couldn’t shake them usual questions… How’s the band? When’s the next gig? Any recordings planned? What’s new? And I got sick of answering these and similar annoying fuckin’ questions. So there began the story telling, and complete bullshit story of a new band called ‘Tattooed Mother Fuckers’, with crazy songs about drinking, fucking, fighting, songs straight from the gutter of life. But somehow this story started to appeal to me.
So through the blur of ‘Jack Daniels’ or ‘Jagermeister & red bull’ I started talking with a few musicians and we managed to arrange one practice, but that was as far as the band went that time around. Somewhere down the line ‘Deranged Mother Fucker’ and me eventually got our shit together and booked the studio and knocked together x5 songs. We were amazed by the results, well more like we were totally shocked, so we sent out a few copies to some labels we knew and it resulted in the ‘Hate Edge’ 7” release, followed by the mini CD version.
This was the kick up the arse that we needed, and it pushed us back into the studio again in 2005 where we recorded the ‘It’s a Thugs Life’ CD, which was released early in 2006. This really got the band a lot of attention, great reviews and gig offers, but we were still struggling to get our act together. Due to personal stuff, hectic life styles, and yes you guessed it, alcohol!! We still hadn’t got the live side of things sorted out either. Before we knew it the end of 2006 was approaching fast, but there was more good news on the recording front. In August the band entered the studio again to lay down the tracks for the second full length ‘Sex, Thugs & Rock n Roll’, and for the next 5 months this album started to take shape slowly.
The year 2007 was finally here and the long awaited debut live gig for the band took place in Belgium, at last the band had made it out of the studio and rehearsal rooms onto a stage. March of that year saw the release of the ‘Sex, Thugs & Rock n Roll’ CD, and some more great reviews, followed up with some gigs in Germany, Sweden and finally in Belgium again.
Before we fuckin’ knew it 2008 was upon us, and we finally got the opportunity to play in our own country. On January 19th supported by ‘Retaliator’ and ‘Dead Jeff’, we made our noise and left our mark on the West Midlands, a great night if we must say so ourselves. This was also the 1st introduction of our new bass player ‘Ginger Mother Fucker’. He only had 2 weeks to prepare for this and the up and coming gigs due to us sacking ‘Scarred Mother Fucker’ from the band. Gigs followed in Belgium and Spain, and the band then spent a lot of time penning the 3rd full length and working on our live songs. A few small gigs were also played in the U.K, in Leicester and Oxford.
The 3rd full length ‘Thug Anthems’ was recorded between July and November of 2008 and released shortly after, again on our own label. Again the response to this release is incredible. Also recorded around the same time were a handful of songs for an arranged split with ‘The Gits’ from Poland, but due to a misunderstanding and lack of communication the release was cancelled. But don’t panic as a new and promising label called ‘Thug Beat Productions’ has taken the songs and will release them hopefully in February 2009 as a mini CD and also a vinyl 12”. They will also be releasing the vinyl version of ‘Thug Anthems.
2009 was a busy year with gigs already planned for the U.K, Belgium and Sweden, and talk of gigs in Germany, Spain, Italy and Finland.
So that is the ‘story so far’ friends and fellow low life. We will see you at the bar at a gig soon, or in some gutter somewhere. Until then keep the faith and keep the mother fucking hate edge spirit alive
